[FIN] Turun kauppatorille nousi sen uudistustöiden yhteydessä kolme uutta rakennusta ja yksi soittolava. Yhteistä näille kaikille on niiden outo puusta valmistettu ulkokuori. Näistä kahdessa on ravintola ja tässä kuvatussa on kahvila nimeltään Otava. Samassa rakennuksessa on paikka pop-up liikkeille ja grillille.

Arkkitehtuuri tässä rakennuksessa muistuttaa helposti jotain Jetsons animaation ravintolaa. Näissä pitäisi olla enemmän neon valoja sekä tietysti raketti katolla.

Orgaaninen puun käyttö on Suomessa monissa uusissa rakennuskohteissa noussut suosituksi elementiksi. Nämä paviljonkimaiset rakennukset Turun Kauppatorille on suunnitellut Schauman Arkkitehdit ja ne valmistuivat loppukesästä 2022.


[EN] Three new buildings and one music stage went up in Turku's market square in connection with its renovation works. What they all have in common is their strange outer shell made of wood. Two of these have a restaurant and the one pictured here has a cafe called Otava. In the same building, there is a place for pop-up stores and a grill.

The architecture in this building easily resembles a restaurant from the Jetsons animation. These should have more neon lights and of course a rocket on the roof.

The use of organic wood has become a popular element in many new construction sites in Finland. These pavilion-like buildings for Turku's Market Square were designed by Schauman Architects and were completed in late summer 2022.
