The entrance arch for memorial park contains the inscription MEMORIAL PARK within the double line arch and the the numbers 19 and 19 above each of the support poles, a reference to the year 1919 the year the Treaty of Versailles officially ended World War I. The treaty was signed on June 28, 1919.

Memorial Park is in the shape of one quadrant of a circle. Four entrances lead to the center of the park which contains the official Massachusetts Peace Monument, "It Shall Not Be Again". The monument also honors the veterans of World War I. There are several smaller World War I monuments in the park.
