To honor the 200th anniversary of our nation's birth, the white pine, symbolizing Saginaw County , planted this day and place is to commemorate our logging heritage and represents continued future growth and prosperity for our community.

In anticipation of the 300th birthday of our nation, the tricentennial, this time capsule, buried this day and place contains data, pictures and artifacts that illustrate life in Saginaw County in the year 1976.
