Summer Night Tree is an approximately 25 foot tall sculpture made of Corten Steel. It sits in the open at a very busy intersection in downtown Jackson, Michigan. The Smithsonian listing calls it "A tall abstract sculpture with large, flat, twisting, leaf-like forms rising from a narrow trunk-like cluster. The sculpture is painted black. The sculpture is installed on a concrete plaza."

Also "Funded with a National Endowment for the Arts, Art in Public Places grant of $50,000 given in 1976 to the City of Jackson. Additional funding was provided by private contributions. In 1998, the sculpture was removed and stored due to construction, but plans were in place to reinstall the sculpture in 1999."
