County of chimera: Ochiltree County
Location of chimera: S. Main St. (US-83) & SE 6th St., county courthouse, Perryton
Built: 1928
Architect - Mann & Co.
Architectural Style: Texas Renaissance

The two faces of steers? or cows? but surely not bulls...and city folk, there is a difference....

The two faces are above the main entrance above the windows and above the seals Texas Army and US Army....not sure why these are here.

"This is the county's second courthouse. (The first in 1890.) In Texas Renaissance Style, the simple lines and good details make this courthouse a fine example of between-the-wars architecture.

"The original south side entrance and half of the rear side of the building have been obscured by the 1974 addition. Locals informed me that it's pronounced "AH-kull-tree."" - Terry Jeanson, March 2008" ~ Texas Escapes
