Wildlife (including birds) abounds at Wynnwood Park. This rest area on the trail, with a bench and a handy bird identification placard, is an ideal place to locate and identify the birds that frequent this area. This location is about a mile and a half walk from the nearest parking.

From this location, visitors looking southeast will have a good view of a cove in Lewisville Lake and can expect to see a variety of shorebirds and water birds, including ducks, egrets, and geese. To the north and northwest is a mix of open and wooded areas, which are a natural habitat for mourning doves, red-winged blackbirds, and white-crowned sparrows. Birds of prey such as the red-tailed hawk can be seen hunting here.
