[FIN] Laitilan Soukaisten kylässä on vanha kyläkoulu jolla on mielenkiintoinen historia.
Elon koulu on 1800 luvun rakennus. Se toimi aluksi asuintalona ja siinä syntyi ja eli kuuluisa keksijä Efraim Elo. Talossa oli myöhemmin kylän koulu joka sai nimekseen Elon koulu. Tarkalleen 1930-luvulta aina lähes vuoteen 2000 saakka. Tämän jälkeen rakennuksessa on ollut päiväkoti sekä erilaisten yhdistysten toimintaa. Nykyäänkin siinä on kotiseutuyhdistyksen toimintaa.
Talosta löytyy kyltti joka kertoo sen historiasta. Herra Efraim Elo on tullut lähes kaikille matematiikkaa opiskelleille suomalaisille. Elon laskuoppi on ollut suosittu kirja ja siitä on otettu lukemattomia painoksia.
[EN] There is an old village school with an interesting history in the Soukainen village of Laitila.
Elo's school is a 19th century building. It initially served as a residential building and the famous inventor Efraim Elo was born and lived there.
