St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church is the only Orthodox Church in New Brunswick, thus it attracts Orthodox worshipers of other nationalities. A narrow lot of land was donated for the building. The cornerstone for the church was laid in May 1952 and the building was completed in August of 1952 with funds raised by the Greek community. Since 1952 a Greek community has grown around the church.
The brick building is built on a painted stone foundation and has a gable roof. A set of stairs leads up to the main entrance at the base of a bell tower set within the main block of the church. Above the entrance is a three part Gothic style transom window. Higher up is an octagonal window and then a Gothic style, louvered, belfry window. A copper dome with a crenelated base and a cross on top completes the tower.
On both sides of the tower there are Gothic style windows on the main block. The north side is four bays deep with rectangular windows at each bay. The south side had an auxiliary entrance and three closed squares inserts at the foundation level and two rectangular windows in the upper level. The building that abutted the south side has been razed.
