Built by the Canadian Locomotive Company, Kingston, ON in 1913, this locomotive was delivered to Canadian Pacific as #1098, a class D10h. Hundreds of these ‘ten wheelers’ could be found all over Canada at that time in both freight and passenger service, many lasting into the 1950s. As of 1960, this particular locomotive was still in service as a stationary boiler.

Over the next several decades, this engine passed from owner to owner, usually in passenger excursion service, and even spent a few years at Steamtown in Scranton, PA, before ending up here with the Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern short line. It was one of the locomotives used for RBM & N’s steam excursions for a while but is now on static display in front of their passenger station north of Reading on highway 61.
