This red granite cross stands outside the walls of St. Oswald's Church and was erected to commemorate the men of the parish who died in WWI.

The cross has an original WWI inscription on the front face and was amended after WWII with an inscription on the rear of the cross.

In 2018 two commemorative benches were place behind the front and rear faces of the cross for the centenary commemorations of the end of WWI.
