This obelisk sets on a tiered base. It stands approximately 11' tall and 2'square at the base. Cut from gray granite the obelisk has a slight taper with a carved vase at the top
"PHILIP BRIDENBAUGH, of Tyrone Township, was married to a daughter of Michael Hileman, of Frankstown, and died in 1831 [sic -- may be an OCR error]at the age of seventy-three years. He was the father of sons named John, Henry, Michael, Philip W., David, Joseph and Benjamin, while his daughters were married to Thomas Russell, Frank Wilson,Alexander Seeds, Mahlon Stryker and William Louden. The sister of Philip Bridenbaugh married into the Hileman, Smith, Hollinger, and Sprankle families, who are among the pioneers of different parts of the county, while the Bridenbaughs were well known as among prominent settlers of the valley."
