Stanley Lake sits at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains in central Idaho. It’s a popular but not overcrowded destination for camping, boating and hiking in the Sawtooth NRA.
The stamp was issued in 2002 and was part of a set of fifty different designs each resembling a vintage postcard offering “Greetings from…” each of the fifty states. Besides Stanley Lake, the stamp also shows a kayaker and Shoshone Falls near the city of Twin Falls on the Snake River in the southern part of the state.
