Footprints of an Ancient Armored Salamander (Stegocephalian) are one of the fossils on display at the Penn State Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum and Art Gallery. Located in the Deike Building University Park, PA.

These fossilized footprints were pulled from a Pennsylvania coal mining near Jerome PA. This particular slab was cut from the roof of the coal mine, they were saved and donated them to Penn State. These are footprints believed to belong to an ancient, armored salamander.

The museum’s exhibition gallery is located on the ground floor of the Deike Building on Penn State’s University Park campus. The gallery is open to everyone and is always free of charge.

Photography is allowed and encouraged in Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum & Art Gallery. When taking pics and videos, please be aware of your surroundings and other visitors. The Pennsylvania State University Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum and Art Gallery, located at 6 Deike Building, University Park, PA, (PH: 814-863-6017) is open to the public Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
