Adam and Eve on a door in the monastery Hamersleben and St. Pankratius. The door is in the northern side chapel and is a two-wing portal door made of bronze with the theme "Adam and Eve in Paradise". The beautiful door with the many motifs was made by the sculptor Heinrich Apel (b. 1935) in 1972 (

Hamersleben was first mentioned in a 1021 deed and in 1111 became the home of an Augustinian Canons Regular monastery. The double monastery also became the seat of an archdeacon in 1178.
Today it is a stop on the scenic Romanesque Road in Germany. (
