Great Russell Fire
On Sunday, June 6, 1915, 25 buildings burned to the ground. The brick walls of this building built in 1874 are all that remains. Soon after, the Village Council purchased fire-fighting equipment and started Russell's first voluntary fire brigade.

Le dimanche 6 Juin 1915, 25 bâtiments sont la proie des flammes. Seulement les murs de brique de ce bâtiment construit in 1874, on su resister au flammes.
Peu après, le conseil du village a acheté de l'équipement pour combattre les incendies et voila comment a débuté la premiere brigade de pompiers volontaire a Russell.
