The Fox Theatre was built by Bruce McLeod and opened on April 20th, 1939. The Fox was built with a sloping floor from front to back, a layout that was fairly new at the time. They also had modern lighting and seats from the Globe Furniture Company of Waterloo (Globe Furniture closed in 1968) with red leather and mohair.

The theatre was air conditioned for patron comfort. (visit link)

The theatre later became the Old Fox Market. Today it is a dance studio. Other than the worn out neon-less Fox sign, the theatre is almost unrecognizable, with the ticket booth and entrance covered with wood.
