The 'Then Photo' shows a Hertz Car Rental location with cars from the early 1960's. This photo was taken from the North side of 24th Street/ PA 36.

This Hertz Rental and Leasing was a popular business during the 1960's through the early 1980's. The building has had a few other businesses since it was operated as a Hertz. The latest being McCarl's Mechanical Contractors. The building has been remodeled the roof was raised and the recessed front was brought out with a stone facing covering the white brick. The walk-in door facing 24th street has been replaced with a smaller window. Also, an addition of a walk-in door to the east wall is shown in the 'Now Photo'. The garage portion of the building to the left has been extended to the street and the furniture store that once stood to the left has been razed. The large tree on the west side of the building was not in the 'Then Photo' and probably grew from a wild seed.
