To reach the summit of Corcovado Mountain and Christ the Redeemer, you must take either the Corcovado Mountain Cog Train or a shuttle van. Either way, you will arrive well below the base of the statue. There are two ways up - elevators, or a 220-step stone stairway. The stairs cover a winding path and are in many sections, so you're not climbing them all at once, and there are plenty of landings where you can stop and take in the breathtaking views from the top of Corcovado Mountain.
