PT: "A meio desta encontra-se este edifício de três pisos construído no século XVI durante o reinado de D. Sebastião, para o exercício da justiça desta vila.
De traço simples, sóbrio e austero, é feito em alvenaria granítica. Está encimado por um pequeno campanário de um sino, à esquerda. As aberturas do edifício não apresentam quaisquer elementos decorativos, excepto o escudo de Armas Reais atribuídas a D. Sebastião entre as janelas dos pisos segundo e terceiro.
No piso térreo não havia qualquer porta, uma vez que era aqui a cadeia, por isso a entrada realizava-se pelo lado esquerdo, precedida de um arco de volta perfeita."

Simple, sober and austere, it is made of granite masonry. It is topped by a small bell-tower on the left. The building's openings do not present any decorative elements, except for the royal coat of arms attributed to D. Sebastião between the windows on the second and third floors.
On the ground floor there was no door, since this was the jail, so the entrance was on the left side, preceded by a perfect arch."
