EN: "Ponte Laços de Amizade (Valentine's Bridge), also known as the ribbon bridge or the bow bridge, is located at Cais do Cojo, 3800-133 in Aveiro, central Portugal, the city known as the Venice of Portugal. This bridge crosses the Canal do Cojo, one of the many channels of the Ria de Aveiro, connecting the Forum Aveiro shopping center to Largo do Mercado Manuel Firmino.

On this bridge it is possible to place the so-called bonds of friendship and it gained this popular designation due to the informal initiative of two students from the University of Aveiro who, in 2004, began to hang bows on the wooden bridge guards, as a symbol of love or friendship, leaving the challenge to anyone passing by to repeat the gesture.

It was known as the padlock bridge because in the past, instead of ribbons, padlocks were hung, a practice that was discontinued so as not to damage the bridge.

The friendship ribbons can be purchased at various souvenir shops near the Manuel Firmino market, next to the Ria de Aveiro or at various shops in the well-known fish square.

It is an icon of the city of Aveiro, you will not be able to miss this place, whether crossing this bridge on foot or taking the fantastic moliceiro rides on the Ria de Aveiro."
