Toppstugan is Sweden's highest café on Mount Åreskutan, north of the village of Åre. The cafe is located at 1420m altitude and can only be reached via a rocky path from the upper station of the cable car, which is at 1274m altitude.
In good weather you have a wide view to the south-east over the Åresjö in front of Åre, to the south-west lies the village of Duved and to the west you can see the Tännforsen waterfall, 14 km away.
The cafe itself is a simple wooden hut without running water, everything has to be brought to the hut by the operators themselves, so there are no toilets. Small items such as cakes, waffles, coffee, tea and some chilled drinks are offered inside. The cafe offers some seating with tables outside during the summer months so one can enjoy the views of the surrounding area.
