EN:"Heritage is a collection of knowledge and values, work and traditions, a source that is constantly enriched and reassessed, contributing to the development and consolidation of social and political relations. around the very concepts of heritage and culture. Promoting the diversity and uniqueness of any given community is, therefore, a key action, and it makes grateful contributions, not only for the safeguarding of the local heritage but also for development itself, because this is only understood if it is translated into a concrete and detailed knowledge of the reality, is inherent to sustainability.
However, sustainable development makes sense if it results from a joint effort of entities with common goals and registered in the same area, thus sharing the same sociocultural reality, without jeopardizing the reinforcement of their particularisms. Cooperation is, therefore, her word of choice, coming from integrated actions that benefit everyone. Therefore, the local policy of Cultural Heritage management continues the implementation of a national and international policy, complying with the conventions and recommendations imposed on the concepts of: heritage, landscape, monument, authenticity, identity, conservation, restoration, formation and enjoyment.
There is consensus that the defense of cultural heritage must be increasingly understood as a global policy, concerning the protection and conservation of immovable and movable, material and immaterial assets. Each community, taking into account its collective memory and aware of its past, present and future, is responsible for identifying and managing its heritage.
It is in this context that the Department for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, through the Museums, Library, Cultural Heritage and Tourism Division, integrated into the Socio-Economic Department of the Aveiro City Council, develops its actions by promoting a program of activities based on the above principles. identified."
The truth is, the balcony seen right there is impressive and a good example of a modernist relief.
The buildings next to the river are an example of the modernist wealth (little documented, yes) of the area.
