Praia dos Frades is located in the town of Baiona, in the province of Pontevedra.
The sand is thick and there are some rocks that form a small bay. It is located on the peninsula of Monterreal.

So named because the friars of the Franciscan convent inside the Monterreal fortress used to bathe in it. The friars accessed their sandy area through a door –which is still preserved today– existing in the wall. The convent disappeared in the middle of the 19th century. The beach is –like its adjoining one, that of Concheira– ventilated, with transparent waters and coarse sand.
