"In June 2021, Theo installed a Little Free Pantry across from his Chocolate Factory. Theo employees and the neighborhood have done a great job of keeping it stocked, but the pantry is often empty every morning demonstrating the need here. They completed a Factory Experience Food Drive where proceeds purchased more pantry stock and they created a Amazon Wish list for more donations"
The project aims to raise awareness and educate the community about food waste.
Little Free Pantries (LFPs) offer a zero-barrier access point to food to help fill the gaps in the food system. They support neighbors who are facing food insecurity while building micro-communities. They empower people to make an immediate change in their neighborhood.
LFPs work in support of FSA’s to draw awareness to food insecurity issues and create community through collective action in neighborhoods. Little Free Pantries give neighborhoods and communities the ability to help fill gaps in our food system and are a no-barrier, 24/7 access point to food.
Every morning, it is empty.
