About the restaurant chain: In 1968 entrepreneur Curt Bergfors opened the first restaurant of the burger restaurant chain MAX in the Swedish town of Gällivare in Norrbottens Län. Until the 1990s, the chain also expanded in various other areas, but from 1999 the focus was exclusively on burger restaurants. In 2021 there were 142 branches in Sweden, 8 in Norway, 4 in Denmark and 17 in Poland. With annual sales of SEK 4.1 billion and 7200 employees in 2021, MAX is the second largest burger restaurant chain in Sweden after McDonald's. The burgers are always freshly prepared and customers can add extras to their taste. MAX only uses Swedish food for its burgers and as a side effect was able to reduce its carbon footprint by 24% compared to 2013.

About the branch: The branch in Skövde is located north-west of the city on Norra Metallvägen and opened in 2008. Several order terminals for individual orders, a drive-in and an ordering option at the counter are available, from the sales counter you have a view of the kitchen. There is room for about 100 guests inside the building and about 70 guests outdoors. There is a play corner for children inside and outside, wireless internet is available for customers during their visit. The branch is open daily from 10 a.m. and closes at 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays at 4 a.m.

Other (fun) facts: According to yearly independent surveys held since 2012 on Sweden's best burger 44% of the survey takers named MAX in first place. This lead to an advertising campaign with the sentence "Sveriges godaste hamburgare" (Swedens best hamburgers). An app that can be used to pre-order and collect from the nearest branch has been developed in recent years.
