L’établissement a également accompagné l’avènement du tourisme d’affaires à Biarritz. Sa Salle des Ambassadeurs, sa terrasse, son auditorium/théâtre et ses salles de commission (gérés par Biarritz Tourisme, l’Office de tourisme et le bureau des Congrès), accueillent salons et congrès tout au long de l’année, et ont vu défiler l’été 2019 les chefs d’État des plus grandes puissances économiques lors du G7. Le Bellevue, quant à lui, n’est plus un casino depuis 1960.
The establishment has also accompanied the advent of business tourism in Biarritz. Its Salle des Ambassadeurs, its terrace, its auditorium/theater and its committee rooms (managed by Biarritz Tourism, the Tourist Office and the Convention Bureau), host trade shows and conventions throughout the year, and saw the heads of state of the greatest economic powers parade through the summer of 2019 during the G7. As for the Bellevue, it has not been a casino since 1960.

Le casino municipal de Biarritz est un immeuble de style Art déco édifié à Biarritz, dans les Pyrénées-Atlantiques, en 1929 par l'architecte Alfred Laulhé. Partiellement rénové dans les années 1990, il est inscrit aux monuments historiques en 1992.
Histoire
Un premier casino avait été construit entre 1856 et 1858 grâce à Benito R. de Monfort.
L’architecte
Fils d'un boulanger de l'avenue de France, Alfred Lamoureu, dit Laulhé, est né le 14 mars 1879 à Biarritz. Après une scolarité au lycée de Bayonne il fait des études à l'école spéciale d'architecture de Paris, atelier Laynaud. Il sort diplômé en 1900. De 1903 à 1905 il collabore avec Édouard Niermans à la reconstruction de l'Hôtel du Palais. Sa collaboration avec ce prestigieux cabinet et son mariage avec la fille de l'entrepreneur chargé des travaux, Amélie Bourtayre, lui mettent le pied a l'étrier. Alfred Laulhé meurt en 1956 à Biarritz, villa Gordiada, sans descendance.
Description
Le casino se dresse sur la Grande Plage, en plein centre de Biarritz. Il contient, outre des salles de jeux et des salons de réception, un théâtre, une piscine, un restaurant ainsi qu'un bar sportif.
Les éléments protégés par les monuments historiques sont constitués du vestibule, de la galerie et de l'élévation.
Il est aujourd'hui exploité par le Groupe Barrière qui inaugurait en juin 2014 son nouveau casino après neuf mois de travaux et 5,3 millions d'euros d'investissement.

The municipal casino of Biarritz is a building of Art Deco style built in Biarritz, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in 1929 by the architect Alfred Laulhé. Partially renovated in the 1990s, it is listed as a historical monument in 1992.
History
A first casino was built between 1856 and 1858 thanks to Benito R. de Monfort.
The architect
Son of a baker on the Avenue de France, Alfred Lamoureu, known as Laulhé, was born on March 14, 1879 in Biarritz. After attending high school in Bayonne, he studied at the Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris at the Laynaud workshop. He graduated in 1900. From 1903 to 1905 he collaborated with Édouard Niermans on the reconstruction of the Hôtel du Palais. His collaboration with this prestigious firm and his marriage to the daughter of the contractor in charge of the work, Amélie Bourtayre, gave him a foothold. Alfred Laulhé died in 1956 in Biarritz, villa Gordiada, without descendants.
Description
The casino stands on the Grande Plage, in the center of Biarritz. It contains, in addition to the gaming rooms and reception rooms, a theater, a swimming pool, a restaurant and a sports bar.
The elements protected by the historical monuments are the vestibule, the gallery and the elevation.
It is now operated by the Barrière Group, which inaugurated its new casino in June 2014 after nine months of work and 5.3 million euros of investment.
