The marker is located in a concrete monument near the center of city hall. It's made out of bronze and features the relief of a bald eagle and purple heart, with a Silhouette of President Washington. The marker reads, "This memorial dedicated by citizens of Oceanside to honor those valiant men and women who offered themselves in service and sacrifice that the ideals of American Democracy might live."
