The Lawrence Park Dinor is an historic diner located on Main Street in Lawrence Park Township, just east of the city of Erie, PA. The Dinor building is Silk City Diner built in 1948. It has been open in Lawrence Park ever since. Lawrence Park is a small township located near a large factory that was once a General Electric Transportation plant and is now run by Wabtec. The Park Dinor served many of GE's workers over the years. The Dinor was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Interestingly, the spelling of "Dinor" is an anomaly that was used exclusively in northwestern Pennsylvania.
In 2017, the Larence Park Dinor received a "Greater Erie Award" from Preservation Erie, an organization created "to promote, preserve, and enhance the distinctive character of greater Erie through community-based planning, design, and historic preservation." According to the Preservation Erie website, "The Greater Erie Awards are presented annually by the board of Preservation Erie to individuals, businesses or organizations that are exceptional stewards of the physical and cultural landscape that is Greater Erie." They awarded a 2017 Greater Erie Award to the Lawrence Park Dinor, "In recognition of Rick and Becky Standley’s preservation excellence of this 1950s dinor located in downtown Lawrence Park."
