A memorial anchor in the churchyard of St Peter & St Paul 's church, Shorne.

The anchor rests upon the tomb slab that commemorates Walter Maplesden Noakes, April 11th 1850 - July 15th 1918.

"Born in Shorne, Kent, England on 1850 to Richard Maplesdon Noakes and Jane Shaw. Walter Maplesden Noakes married Jessie LIGHTBAND and had 4 children. He passed away on 15 Jul 1918 in Kent, England."
