Ecological Footprint in Weidendom Visitor Center
In the middle of the visitor centre Willow Dome (Admont | Nationl Park Gesäuse) is Austria's first accessible ecological footprint, which was awarded the Climate Protection Prize in 2012 and 2013 as a decade project by the Austrian UNESCO Commission. You can explore your personal lifestyle in a labyrinth of beech hedges. At various crossroads, questions “lurk” that lead you to a dead-end road within the labyrinth when answered incorrectly.
How big is my own ecological footprint?
The ecological footprint in Austria is three times as large as it should be viewed globally and questions automatically arise as to which traces we leave on this earth. In order to expand and deepen the experience gained in the labyrinth you can measure your own footprint at the footprint scale and learn how to reduce it and protect the environment. You learn more about the global connections of the ecological footprint, people worldwide, the respective countries and every single individual!

Not all those who wander are lost.
