St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Missouri Synod. The church building was built as a Baptist Church in Barkhamsted, CT in 1845. In 1866 the church was moved to New Hartford by being floated down the Farmington River. There is was affiliated with the Baptist Church of New Hartford. About 1907 the church was acquired by the Lutheran community of German immigrants living at new Hartford. (

The church is located on a hillside on a narrow parcel of land and is attached to a complex of auxiliary buildings on the east and west side. A steep set of stairs leads up a portico entrance which is covered by a pediment supported by four Doric columns. The main block has a gable roof topped by a two stage square tower. The upper tier is a square belfry with louvered window flanked by fluted Doric columns on each side. The sides of the church are attached to the aforementioned auxiliary buildings.
