The final resting place of centenarian Alma Gunn is at the far north side of Gracelawn Cemetery. She shares an upright marker with her spouse Carl who she was married to for 58 years. Carl live to the age of 97.

Alma (Stub/Stubby) Frost (Ethridge) Gunn was born June 11, 1917, in Oklahoma City, OK to MC and Sally Jo (Frost) Ethridge. Alma was the 4th of 7 children born to this union. She passed from this earthly life to her eternal Heavenly home on October 11, 2019, at the age of 102 years, 4 months, at Willow Creek Health Care, Guthrie, OK, where she had resided for over a year after moving from the Crescent Care Center where she had lived for 5 years. Alma was raised in Waterloo, OK where her Father was Section Foreman for Santa Fe Railroad. She picked up the nickname “Stubby” as a toddler, and it stuck throughout her entire life. She graduated from Edmond High School. She then took over a job as a nanny from her sister in Yukon, OK to the family that owned the flour mill. After Wednesday night prayer meeting at the church she and her friends went for pie and coffee to a local café where she met Carl Birdie Gunn who was in town working on the construction of NW Highway. He was a widower from Montana with 3 small children and was 17 years older than her. They were married 3 months later on April 6, 1939, in Edmond, OK. It all seemed to work as after having 3 more children together they were married for 58 years before Carl went to Heaven in 1997. After Alma Alma was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She married Carl Birdie Gunn on April 6, 1939 in Oklahoma City.
