When you enter the airborn museum of Sainte Mère Église you immediately see the Planeur Waco building.
From a distance the building looks like a UFO that landed on the ground.
The Waco building is made in the shape of a parachute. For this, triangle-shaped parts have been used that give you the spectacular feeling that you are standing under a parachute.
In the following video you get a glimps of the inside of the waco building: (

"The waco building is the first museum space. The space is dedicated to the gliders and the way gliders were deployed during the Normandy Invasion.
A unique example of a Waco glider can be seen in the Airborne Museum in France. You will be able to access the unit just before departure, side by side with the soldiers.
The gliders were of great importance for the supply of men and equipment. More than 500 gliders were deployed in Normandy on D-Day and in subsequent days. They transported vehicles, ammunition and other equipment, but more than 4,400 men also boarded the gliders."
