Stone reredos in the chancel of St Nicholas' church, Corfe.

St Nicholas is an 1842 rebuilding of a Norman church by B. Ferrey. In 1858 the south aisle was added and the tower rebuilt by C. E. Giles. The chancel was restored in 1969. The church is constructed of squared & coursed blue lias, consisting of a 4-bay nave and south aisle, chancel and west tower. The nave arcade is neo-Romanesque.

The Norman style reredos features interlocking arches decorated with a chevron pattern similar to those of the 12th century Norman font, and of the chancel arch. The pillars behind the altar are marble. The top molding above the arches is curved arched and what looks like a billet design, both common design features of the 12th century.
