"The relief depicts, as noted with Latin inscription (which correctly reads: Visitatio Beatae Mariae Virgine), the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary. St. Elizabeth reverently embraces the Mother of God appearing to her.
The background of the relief is also rich in detail and successful, with a representation of a house, sun and moon relief and crowning Holy Spirit as a dove. The final cross was broken off and is today newly, however incorrectly, put on. The paint is not original."

"The cross consists of a shaft with diamond cuboid at the foot and ribbon decorations and a ¾-relief representation. The richly structured shaft wayside shrine stands on a broad and probably older altar base made of red sandstone. Originally approx. 2.60 m high (incl. final cross), two parts of the cross were unfortunately omitted or reduced in size during the relocation as a result of the construction of the bypass road, among other things the date 1709 is now missing. The cross still measures 2.20 m today.
The year of erection 1709, today subsequently repainted, was under the founder's inscription: Mathias Heins Pastor in Wiltingen."
