WINKELHUIS van de N.V. Toebackslijterij "d'Hollandse Damper", 1919-1920, in rationalistische stijl. Gesitueerd op de hoek van Munstraat, Kleine Staat en Grote Staat. Gebouwd naar een ontwerp van de Maastrichtse architect V. Marres, in opdracht van bovengenoemde N.V..

Winkelhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond van slechts 20 vierkante meter, beeldbepalend gesitueerd in de binnenstad. Op deze plattegrond staan eensouterrain, vier bouwlagen plus een zolderverdieping onder een zadeldak met twee insteekkappen, gedekt door leien.

De eerste bouwlaag wordt vrijwel geheel in beslag genomen door een afgeschuinde winkelpui op hardstenen plint met souterrainvensters, voorzien van houten etalagekasten, waarboven uitstulpende glas-in-lood bovenlichten. In deze bovenlichten figuratieve voorstellingen refererend aan de verschillende vormen van tabakconsumptie. Daarboven twee gevels over drie lagen, uitlopend in een lucarne met verticaal ingedeeld vensterkozijn, die door een driehoekige topgevel wordt bekroond. Op de gevelhoek, ter hoogte van de tweede laag, een zandstenen reliëf, voorstellende een hofnar.

De gevel aan de Grote Staat heeft in de tweede en derde bouwlaag drie gekoppelde rechthoekige houten achtruitsvensters, waartussen zandstenen traceringen. In de vierde laag tweegewijs gekoppelde vensters. De gevel aan de Muntstraat heeft nog een as met horizontaal gelede trappenhuisvensters. De gevels zijn vanaf de tweede laag opgetrokken in baksteen, met zandstenen speklagen, dorpels, traceringen en topgevelafdekkingen. Sierankers.

De tabakswinkel aan de Muntstraat is van cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een sociaal-economische en als zeer bijzondere uitdrukking van een typologische ontwikkeling.

De architectuurhistorische waarden worden bepaald door de bouwstijl, de betrokkenheid van architect Marres, de zeer hoogwaardige esthetische kwaliteit, het bijzondere streekgebonden materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek.
