In Greek mythology, the supreme god was called Zeus.

In Roman mythology, he was called Jupiter.

In Slavic languages, the name Perun was used. However, it is not very clear when this naming originated and whether it was not merely a copying of already known Greek mythology.

As you can read on Wikipedia, this god has had more than one name and has undergone quite an interesting transformation over time. But I will not copy Wikipedia here, click on the links.

Statue

The sandstone statue dates from around 1820, from the workshop of Platzer. The God is standing on a cloud with lightning bolts carved on it. In his hands he holds an eagle. Below him is a well, from which a stream, a tributary of the Cibulecký Brook, is supposed to flow.

From the statue you can see the Chinese Pavilion, recently reconstructed. However, the roof of the pavilion still lacks a metal swivel chinese with a little umbrella, which used to turn according to the wind. The corridor from the pavilion to the statue has also been restored in recent years.

Monuments in the vicinity

To the south of the statue are paths lined with several monumental oak trees. If you go further south (uphill), you will come to a hermitage called "hell". Inside was a mechanical hermit who prevented devils from leaving hell and harming people. But I don't remember him either.

If you take the path to the east, you can reach the statue of Laocoon from the Trojan Wars. On some maps this statue is called Kronos or Chronos, but ... why Kronos has two snakes? Laocoon warned the Trojans of the treachery of the Greeks, for which the goddess Adrodite, who favours the Greeks sent two serpents at him. The statue is unfortunately badly damaged, so snakes are not visible quite well.

Further south there is a statue of the Greek goddess Diana above the pond.
