Anglican Church of St Nicholas, Corfe. Built in the Norman period and rebuilt in 1842.
"There has been a place of worship in Corfe for centuries and the current building is Norman in style having been rebuilt about the middle of the 19th century.
St Nicholas’ is an 1842 rebuilding of a Norman church by B. Ferrey. The south aisle was added and the tower rebuilt in 1858 by C. E. Giles, and the chancel was restored in 1969. Construction is of squared and coursed blue lias. It consists of a 4-bay nave and south aisle, chancel and west tower.
The nave arcade is neo-Romanesque, as is the chancel arch; both said to be based on the original.
Original 12th century features are two corbels (reset in the north nave wall inside) and the font."
