Father Serra's Church is the original Mission Church. The 300 year old Baroque Altar is from Barcelona Spain. The altarpiece was hand-carved of 396 individual pieces of cherry wood and overlaid in gold leaf.

"The altar is an early Baroque altar of the 17th or 18th century of cherry wood having been brought from Barcelona about 1806. The Retablo, of 196 parts hand carved and gold leafed."
