The Commemoration plaque is located at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area, north of Guelph, Ontario. The plaque was placed by the the National Campers and Hikers Association to commemorate the 26th Annual Campvention. The event was held in July 1986 with 4,452 families in attendance.
The Campvention started in 1961 at the Lake of the Ozarks and moves every year. Past locations have included Brantford, Ontario, Bowling Green, Kentucky, Los Banos, California and in 2021 Elkhorn, Wisconsin. 2022's is taking place in Pueblo, Colorado.
