Arms of Baroness Blanche de Mortimer of Grandison on the altar screen of St Mary's church, Ottery St Mary.

She was daughter of Sir Roger Mortimer, who overthrew King Edward II and ruled England for three years (visit link) . Her remains are believed to have been discovered in a church tomb in Herefordshire (St Bartholomew's Church in Much Marcle). (Ref. (visit link) )

"Blanche Mortimer was born circa 1316 to Roger Mortimer, 1st Earl of March (1287-1330) and Joan de Geneville (1286-1356) and died 1347 of unspecified causes. She married Piers de Grandison, 2nd Baron Grandison (1286-1358) 10 June 1330."
