Armidale Courthouse built in 1856 was a brick building with courtroom and associated chamber and offices.In 1870 the front façade was added, designed in the Victorian Free Classical Style, with a central gable-roofed courtroom featuring a triangular pediment supported on fluted Corinthian columns. The timber clock tower which surmounts the main roof was added in 1890.
