A bee hotel has been set up on the eastern edge of Warandepark in Aalter in collaboration with the Emmaus School and the local tourist centre. It is about 2m wide and a little over a meter high and consists of drilled round tree trunks about a meter long. The tree trunks were stacked in a frame made of other tree trunks and the gaps were partly filled with earth to give the stack additional stability. A information board points to the bee hotel and describes some of the insect species found here.
