De stichting Paardenparade selecteerde gevestigde kunstenaars (o.a.

About the Horse Parade:
The Paardenparade is a connecting sculpture route through the region of Alkmaar, Graft-De Rijp, Schermer, Bergen and Heiloo. At the end of June, the route with life-sized artificial horses was officially opened. KunstNetTV interviewed 8 artists and shows the underlying ideas and techniques used to create the artworks.
The Paardenparade foundation selected established artists (including Hellen van Meene, David Bade and Rob Scholte) and young upcoming talent (such as Sarai de Haan and Mathieu Schellekens) to give substance to the art route in a unique personal way. The life-size fiberglass horses (250 by 300 cm) were worked in very different ways with different materials such as paint, leather and literary phrases.
KunstNetTV filmed eight artists and asked about their story behind the artwork, the way of working and the choice of a specific location. The striking art objects of the Paardenparade are ultimately placed in places with a special story. The result is a permanent cycling and car route that, marked by 10 excitingly designed horses, leads past various cultural-historical places.
