Muistomerkki paljastettiin syyskuussa 1994 tasan 50 vuotta viimeiseen evakkoon lähdöstä. Teoksen suunnitteli arkkitehti Seppo Koutaniemi.
Ainoa teksti mitä muistomerkissä lukee on teoksen nimi Evakkotie ja toisessa kohdassa suunnittelijan nimi.
This monument was revealed at September 1994, exactly 50 years after last time the local people had to evacuate.
The only texts you can find in this monument are its name Evakkotie and designer's name. Evakkotie means "Evacuee's road"
