History
The parish was founded in 1093 and depended on the Abbey of Sint-Bertinus in Sint-Omaars. The present church has a 12th-century Romanesque tower. Later acts of war caused further damage, and the French Revolution also caused damage. In 1798 the tower was restored.
Building
The church has three naves and a hall in yellow brick, with a partly Romanesque west tower built in limestone. The choir has a three-sided closure. The church is in late Gothic style from the 16th century.
