Sulaoja on Suomen suurin lähde (35 000 m³/vrk) ja se on ollut saamelaisten vanha pyhä lähde. Lähteen vesi on pysynyt juoksevana kovemmallakin pakkasella ja se on ollut talvella arvokas paikka. Lisäksi lähteen vedellä on uskottu olevan parantavia vaikutuksia.

Sulaoja is the biggest spring (35 000 m³/day) in Finland and it has been an old sacred place for Sàmi people. There is running water year round also with freezing temperatures and that has been a valuable spot in winter. Water is believed to have healing properties.
