Covered bridge crosses the river Jagst in a large valley and nature area. Several hiking trails cross over the bridge.
On one side of the bank are the ruins of an old watermill Heinzenmühle. It was first mentioned in 1357, and has been through several restorations over time. It partially burned down in 1965 and was finally demolished in 1973.
There is no information on the original age of the bridge. However, it must be old, which can be seen on the large stone foundations that support the wooden bridge. And it must have been in use in connection with the mill. The current wooden bridge was renewed in 1998.
It is a very beautiful bridge in a scenic landscape. One can reach the bridge by various hiking routes.
