Kenmore Bridge was built in 1774 with the proceeds of the Annexed Estates after the failed Jacobite Rebellion. It was designed by John Baxter in a style similar to Smeaton's Bridge in Perth, and has been largely unaltered since.
The bridge carries the A827 road over the River Tay at the point the river leaves the eastern end of Loch Tay. It links the planned village of Kenmore with the Taymouth Estate on the northern bank.
The bridge has five arches of varying size, four of them spanning the river, with the most southerly on the river bank. There are three further blocked arches on the flood plain of the northern bank. The central arch is the largest with two circular holes on either side.
The roadway is slightly hump-backed and is single carriageway, being controlled by traffic lights.
