The grey-brown granite tablet headstone has three Martin family names on it, with the applicable one being on the bottom. It is for Private Alexander [*Austin] Martin. The bottom three lines, in raised relief transcription reads:

Pte. ALEXANDER MARTIN

R. I. P.

The Salamaua–Lae campaign was held in New Guinea, 22 April – 16 September 1943, where the allied forces tried to capture the two major Japanese bases. Alexander Martin was one of some ~1,800 allies that died there, until Salamaua was taken. [Wikipedia]
